Local business owners, John and Donna Hayes, came to Palmers with a vision. They wanted a beautiful extension to complete their rustic home, and supply another room for them and their family to make memories together. John, Donna and our design team discussed the style of their existing property, the type of extension they had in mind and their budget.   

The Brief: 

John and Donna explained they wanted a large extension to complement the existing style of their home. With a lantern roof for stargazing and an electric fire for the colder months, they were eager to use the extended room all year round. They also specified that they wanted large doors leading out into their garden, so the couple could watch their grandchildren playing. 

The Delivery: 

Following an initial meeting with our designers and construction consultants, we suggested an 8x4 meter orangery with a double lantern roof. The extension would have plenty of space for the whole family! 

Our team also chose aluminium bi-fold doors to let the fresh air in, and an in-built electric fire for the family to enjoy during winter.  To maintain the property’s rustic, countryside aesthetic, we agreed that exposed brickwork would complement the existing style.  

The Results: 

The results were outstanding. Our team worked hard to ensure John and Donna’s orangery flowed seamlessly with the house, a beautiful addition to their home. The aluminium bi-fold doors provide security while filling the extension with natural light, and we are sure that come the winter months their new fire will be put to good use!
