Our History
In the early 90s, Clive Whiting started Palmers of Trent Bridge, now widely known as Nottingham's premier home transformation retailer. Since then, the company has grown to a team of 30+ experts in bricklaying, plastering, joinery and design.
in 1991, our 1/3 of an acre-sized showroom opened on Radcliffe Road, opposite to the Trent Bridge Cricket Club and the Nottingham Forest Football Club. Open seven days a week, it provides a first-hand look into our bespoke options for clients, and a place to connect with our designers.
By the 2000s, we had completed over 500 construction projects.
Our team had also grown immeasurably, expanding to welcome more into the family. We value the power of family, and the passion familial employees bring to a business like ours.
From the 90s through to the present day, trust makes up the foundation of every client relationship we are grateful to earn.
Expanding from our showroom, we opened our joinery shop in 2008. This allowed us to start crafting our windows, doors, roof fittings and more onsite.
We understand that your home should be tailored to your personal style, with all elements working in unison to embody your personality. In our joinery shop, our expert team of joiners provide a completely bespoke service - if you can think of it, we can build it.
Over two decades from our debut, we built our 1000th orangery and conservatory in 2012. Our team pride itself on the countless homes we have transformed with our expertise, dedication to bespoke services and leading workmanship.
Our CEO and Chief Designer, Clive, embarked on his first charity bike ride in 2013. From Paris to Palmers, travelling hundreds of miles, he raised thousands of pounds for charity with a team of riders.
For his second charity adventure, Clive rode from Italy to England. Both of his fundraising missions were documented on Twitter, where countless supporters avidly followed his journey.
From both of his cycling adventures combined, Clive raised £60,000, while Palmers as a whole has fundraised over £200,000 for good causes.
As a passionate lifelong supporter of Nottingham Forest Football Club, Palmers purchased the supporters' club in 2019, entrenching our business' roots in Nottinghamshire.
With over 1,500 orangeries and conservatories to our name in 2020, our family team continued to hand build bespoke client projects. Trustworthy, high-quality and personalisable, we remain Nottingham's leading home transformation specialists.
